Mckenzie Bridge

McKenzie is a very nice spot for a day trip. The river is beautiful and the hiking / biking trail along the river is wonderful. Camping is good. The road noise is an issue but does die down after about 10PM. There is an outhouse. No water at the airport. I've been there about 8 times. Every time the wind picks up about 2PM and blows from the west about 10 mph. That means landing with a tailwind. The runway slopes uphill to the east and there are poor go around opportunity. The RAF has been maintaining the strip lately so it is in good shape. Check the notams during fire season. The strip gets very wet in the winter time and is closed.
